Forgiveness?

We can find freedom in forgiveness, but it can also be a prison. It's all about our perspective around the story that we tell.

If it happened, then it's over. It's completely unchangeable. So, we're left with a choice...

We can choose to learn from the experience and accept the lesson (Freedom).

OR

We can form a story about it, fall into victimhood, and trap ourselves in that story (Imprisonment). Only an apology can free us from that prison. But, we all know that even when we get that apology, it's never quite right. So, we double down and get to be victims of someone's actions AND a bad apology!

Situations surrounding forgiveness are really insightful when we're aware of what's happening. If we choose to accept and learn, things happen FOR us and we're free. If we choose to hold grudges and build stories, things happen TO us and we end up trapped in a cage.

Don't be Ron Burgandy, trapped in a glass cage of emotion. Just open the door of the phone booth and walk outside. It's nice out there.
